Whether you are looking for a primary doctor, a
specialist, or a healthcare service, MANA is your connection to quality care in Northwest Arkansas. Medical Associates of Northwest
Arkansas (MANA) is a physician owned healthcare group
with 75 physician and provider members and 15 medical clinics in the Northwest Arkansas
area.
Leading the Community to Better Health
Our physicians have a reputation for excellence and as leaders in the healthcare community for over 50 years. Our first clinic, Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic, was established in 1957 to provide internal medicine and speciality care for adults. In 1983, Drs. Joe T. Robinson and Terry Payton open Northwest Arkansas Pediatric Clinic. Since then the pediatric practice has continued to attract top graduates from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and Arkansas Children's Hospital. In 1994, a group of family medicine doctors established FirstCare Family Doctors, that now has 5 locations serving the Northwest Arkansas community with quality family care. These three groups came together in 2000 to manage their medical practices more efficiently and MANA Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas was created.
MANA provides physicians with the unique opportunity to own their practice and manage their clinic in today's complicated healthcare environment. In 2003, MANA was approached by Radiologists who found there was a need in our community for medical care focused on women and breast imaging and created the first independent breast imaging center in Arkansas, The Breast Center. The Breast Center was the first in Northwest Arkansas to offer digital mammography with computer aided detection and the first in Arkansas to offer Breast MRI by Dr. Steven Harms, a world renowned radiologist. Dr. Kathleen Paulson approached MANA in 2005 to open a gynecology practice dedicated to educating women about their health from their first appointment through menopause.
MANA physicians and staff who share our philosphy in care to join our care team that has grown to include urgent care, primary care, and specialists.

Owned by Physicians
MANA clinics are physician owned practices. Focused on patient care, the
physicians retain the quality, personal clinic environment as a physician
owned practice. Physicians
make the decisions that shape excellent patient care in MANA practices. By working together, physicians in MANA can responsibly manage the costs
associated with health care, improve our practice efficiencies, and enhance
overall care for patients. A board of directors elected by the physicians governs MANA. The board is
advised and assisted by four principal leaders:
Larry Shackelford, CEO; Jason Wilson, CFO; Paula Maxwell,
Chief Operating Officers; and John Jordin, Chief Informational Officer. MANA shares an administrative team that oversees the business side of health care: recruiting; marketing; human resources; training and development; information technology; billing; insurance; and accounting allowing our physicians and medical staff to stay focused on you, the patient.
