Pink Eye

Pink eye is irritation or inflammation of the lining of the eye.  It can by caused by bacteria, viruses, allergies, chemicals, or something in the eye.

Symptoms may include:

  • Redness
  • Mild swelling of the eyelid
  • Increased tearing
  • Burning sensation
  • Yellowish discharge from the eye
  • Matting of the eyelashes

Call or make an appointment online if your child:

  • Has thick yellow or green discharge from the eye
  • Complains that he is having trouble seeing
  • Has pain in the eye
  • Has significant swelling and redness of the eyelid
  • Is younger than 2 months old
