William J. McGowan, MD

Dr. McGowan has actively practiced in Springdale since 1987, joining FirstCare Family Doctors Springdale in 2002. He enjoys all aspects of Family Practice with special interests in allergy, cardiovascular health, and diabetes care. As an undergraduate he attended the New College of the University of South Florida and UALR, then received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. McGowan is board certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. McGowan and his wife, Kelly Carithers, have two sons, Patrick and John. Patrick is currently attending the University of Kansas, while John attends the University of Tulsa. Dr. McGowan’s hobbies include golfing, staying fit, and spending time on Beaver Lake. He is a member of the Springdale Kiwanis and is on staff at Washington Regional Medical Center. Dr. McGowan previously served as Chief of Staff at Northwest Medical Center and Medical Director of The Richardson Homes and Decision Point. Dr. McGowan and the staff at FirstCare Springdale moved into a brand new facility on West End Street in April of 2007.

Dr. McGowan is an active staff members at Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) in Fayetteville, Arkansas. WRMC has a hospitalist who provides in-patient care with close communication with your physician. We remain in contact with the hospitalist during hospitalization to provide continuity of care. After you are discharged, we will provide your follow up hospital care. |
