The 2020 Susan G. Komen Ozark More Than Pink Walk™ has been rescheduled. It will no longer take place on April 25th, 2020. Instead, the Ozark More Than Pink Walk has been moved to September 12th, 2020. It will still take place at Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall.
The Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk™ is the world’s largest education and fundraising event for breast cancer. These walks take place across the U.S. and in 9 different countries around the world. They have helped raise more than $2 billion in funds to help with breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.
More Than Pink Walk events across the country are being rescheduled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The decision was made to push back the event date in an attempt to keep supporters, participants, and volunteers healthy and safe.
Many of the participants in these walks have immune systems that have been affected by cancer; some participants are currently going through cancer treatment.
“Our decision to move the Walk because of COVID-19 concerns was not made lightly. We have a big participant group whose immune systems have been impacted by cancer, including some who are currently going through cancer treatment. At Komen Ozark we’re not only a community, we are a family. And when it comes to family, the decision is easy. We aren’t going to take any chances!
We realize this situation is also impacting you, and we appreciate your continued support during this difficult time.”
You can still register for the Komen Ozark More Than Pink Walk™. The September date just gives you more time to get ready for the walk and raise funds to help in the fight against breast cancer! Donations are tax deductible and can be made online.
