Pulmonary Medicine

At Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic Pulmonary Medicine, we want to help you breathe easier. Our team of seven board-certified pulmonologists and four nurse practitioners are committed to providing compassionate, quality pulmonary care to people in Northwest Arkansas.

Pulmonary Medicine is a medical specialty focusing on health and diseases of the respiratory tract and lungs. Pulmonologists diagnose and treat asthma, Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disease (COPD), lung masses, complicated chest infections like pneumonia, Interstitial lung disease, and emphysema.

Drs. Kyle Hardy, Gary Templeton, Michael Eckles, Edward Jackson, Allen Moseley, Lindsey Barnes, and Nathan Tobey completed residency training in internal medicine followed by three years of combined subspecialty fellowship training in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. They are board-certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Michael Eckles is board certified in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Eckles and Nurse Practitioner Christie Hancock provide sleep evaluations and care at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic and sleep studies at Washington Regional Medical Center.

Nurse practitioners Christie Hancock, Marlys Bitner, Kristin Zaharopoulos, and Jamie Young have extensive knowledge and experience in pulmonary and sleep medicine. As nurse practitioners, they are qualified to treat pulmonary and sleep conditions, including prescribing medications and ordering tests. They collaborate with the physicians to ensure our patients receive individualized, high-quality care.

Each week, Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic Pulmonary Medicine physicians and providers voluntarily participate in an early morning Lung Conference with other medical specialists like oncologists and surgeons. The group of physicians and providers discuss new lung disease cases and the best treatment recommendations.  This type of discussion and teamwork helps coordinate the best quality care for patients in Northwest Arkansas.

Post COVID Recovery Program

MANA physicians offer a Post COVID Recovery Program for people who experience symptoms of COVID more than 60 days or more after their COVID positive test. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, pain, joint pain, anxiety, or depression. Our program starts with a visit to a family medicine doctor or internal medicine physician for an evaluation. Your doctor will coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty care as needed and monitor your whole health. If you are experiencing any post COVID symptoms, contact your primary doctor or complete the interest form.

Respiratory Lab & Imaging

At the Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic Respiratory Lab, our team of experienced respiratory therapists provides diagnostic testing. We also have a radiology department that offers diagnostic imaging within the clinic.

Lung Cancer Screening

The pulmonologists partner with MANA Imaging to offer lung cancer screening CT exams to patients at high risk of developing lung cancer. These exams save lives. Lung cancer screening can find cancers when they are small and more easily treatable. The CT screening exam can be scheduled at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic, and if the patient qualifies, may be offered at no cost. Learn more and see if you qualify

Smoking Cessation

Pulmonary Advanced Nurse Practitioner Kristin Zaharopoulos is a certified smoking cessation counselor and offers a smoking cessation program at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic.
