Healthcare for Adults: Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine physicians are medical specialists who have had special study and are residency trained on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases.

Medical Services

From wellness and preventive medicine to more serious health concerns or disease – an internal medicine physician is your partner in health throughout your adult life. This is the doctor you see for common ailments that arise throughout the years and someone who will help you monitor your overall health and wellness. An internal medicine physician gets to know you, your family history and your individual concerns.

Preventive Care

Internal Medicine doctors bring to patients an understanding of preventive medicine and men’s and women’s health. According to your age and health profile, your physician may recommend screenings to identify potential health problems. Internists also evaluate overall health, including weight, exercise habits, nutrition, and stress management.

We offer an array of vaccines, including annual Flu Vaccines each fall. If you are age 60+ you are at risk for Shingles and should consider getting the one time Shingles vaccine to prevent this painful condition. Ask your doctor for more information.

Your internal medicine physician helps you coordinate your care with other specialists. Many specialists and diagnostic tests are conveniently located at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic.

Caring for the whole patient: Long term care

In addition, Internists are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. More on common diseases treated by Internal Medicine
