Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is an interdisciplinary treatment widely used to detect and treat soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. Originally developed for athletes, IASTM technique helps with scar tissue and fascial restrictions.
The method is used by physical therapists and athletic trainers as well as chiropractors.
We use specially-designed stainless steel instruments to identify areas suffering from these issues, and also to identify the causes and sources of pain. IASTM allows precisely-focused deep tissue penetration which, in connection with therapeutic exercise, leads to faster, more complete recovery with less need for medication or modifications.
