Join us, NWA Pediatrics and First Care Springdale, at this years Hogeye Marathon!
NWA Pediatrics will be sponsoring this years Kids Run along side First Care Springdale who will be running the first aid tent.
This Northwest Arkansas tradition makes running fun! The event has multiple races: The Hogeye Marathon, Half Marathon, Kids Run, 5K Run/Walk, 4 Person Relays and more. This year they are announcing a new route in neighboring Springdale. The new course will take runners past the city’s five major parks and , as in previous years, will include a portion of the Lake Fayetteville Trail. The course will be run primarily on Springdale streets, but sections will run through Johnson and Fayetteville, and a small portion of the 26.2-mile course will take place on the Razorback Greenway.
If you would like to participate, you can visit the Hogeye Marathon website.
The marathon will start at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017. The race will start and finish on Emma Ave. in Springdale’s Downtown District. Timing will end 7 hours from the start. Participants may start early if this is not adequate time. There will be one early start at 6:30 a.m. Keep in mind you must know the course as it will be unsupported until 7:00. Please contact race director and you must sign up at the expo after you pick up your packet. If you do not sign up at the packet pick-up, you will not be allowed to start early.
The 26.2 mile run is open to male and female participants 15 years of age and older. All participants under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian’s signature. No one under the age of 15 will be allowed to participate in the Full Marathon. Runners may participate as part of a 4-person relay team for additional fees. Tech shirts are included and finishers medals. If participating in both the marathon and relay, both medals will be awarded upon completion.
