Mobile 3D Mammography

Now Scheduling Mammograms at the Mobile Mammography Suite

A mobile mammography unit with 3D capabilities arrived on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at MANA Plaza 3383 N. MANA Court in Fayetteville between Northwest Arkansas Pediatrics and MANA Plaza. The Breast Center technologists are providing screening mammography at this location from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and plan to add 3D Mammography, or Tomosynthesis, in the next few weeks.

Covia Health out of Houston, Texas has come to the aid of The Breast Center to provide this upscale mobile mammography suite. The company typically provides their services on-site at large employers and rural areas in Texas. This is the suite’s first time to visit Arkansas.

Dr. Danna Grear was on-site to welcome the tractor-trailer with the mobile Mammography suite. “It was a beautiful sight to watch the Mobile Mammography truck pull into our parking lot,” said Dr. Grear. “We were able to start providing screening mammograms using the latest technology within 36 hours of its arrival.”

Beyond the reception area, guests have access to a private bath with amenities. Two private dressing rooms ensure guests’ comfort and discretion.

The mobile Mammography suite is surprisingly spacious with a small lobby and two dressing rooms with entrances directly into the mammography exam room. The suite is handicapped accessible using a wheelchair lift.

In addition to the mobile suite, the interim Fayetteville Breast Center is now open at 3352 N. Futrall Drive offering a full range of breast screening and diagnostic services.

The Breast Center plans to keep the mobile mammography suite at this location until they are caught up on screening examinations.

Directions to the mobile mammography suite: From I-49, take the Fayetteville business exit and then the first exit, Gregg Street next to Washington Regional Medical Center. At the roundabout, take Futrall Drive. Drive one block and take the RIGHT Wimberly (Collier’s Drug is on the corner. The Breast Center will be on your right. Take a LEFT onto Longview and your first LEFT into the MANA Plaza parking lot. You will see the purple Mammography trailer that says “Mammography saves lives”!
