Northwest Arkansas Psychiatry is a mental health clinic, part of the MANA system. The clinic offers a range of services including medication management, therapy, and now TMS for depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
What’s TMS?
TMS, or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. The treatment has been FDA-approved for the treatment of depression since 2008, but has also shown promising results for anxiety and PTSD.
TMS is an effective treatment option for those who have not responded to traditional therapies such as medication. The treatment is typically administered over the course of several weeks, with sessions lasting around 30-40 minutes each.
New Patient Appointments
Northwest Arkansas Psychiatry also accepts new patients for children through adults. These new patient appointments are usually hard to schedule, since mental health providers are often in high demand and can have lengthy waitlists for appointments. NWA Psychiatry has made availability for more new patient appointments this month for those in need of mental health services to receive timely and effective treatment.
The Kaiser Family Foundation reports that Arkansas includes a high range of officially identified Health Professional Shortages Areas. Only 37% of the need for mental health professionals is currently being met in Arkansas. This can lead to frustrating situations for those who need mental health care. NWA Psychiatry is pleased to have appointments available now.
The Northwest Arkansas Psychiatry team includes psychiatrists and nurse practitioners who specialize in a range of mental health concerns. Patients can expect to receive personalized treatment plans tailored to their individual needs and goals.
