The Breast Center Opens Fourth Location in Springdale

SPRINGDALE, AR — The Breast Center, A MANA Clinic, is opening a Springdale location at 3901 Parkway Circle, Suite 125 on December 10, 2020. The Breast Center Springdale is located inside the Highlands Oncology building at the southwest corner of Interstate 49 and Don Tyson Boulevard in Springdale.

The Breast Center Springdale will offer 3D Mammograms from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The Breast Center is an Accredited Breast Center by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers with additional locations in Fayetteville, Bentonville, and Harrison.

“We are excited to offer breast cancer screening at this new clinic in Springdale,” said Dr. Danna Grear, co-founder of The Breast Center. “Our hope is that this additional location will give women in Northwest Arkansas a choice that may be closer to their home or work. Additionally, it will offer a convenient option to women who are patients at Highlands Oncology as well as to their family members and caregivers”.

During October, The Breast Center provided an average of 125 screening mammograms per day at their three locations. The new location will allow The Breast Center to serve an additional 25-30 women each day. A screening mammogram appointment at The Breast Center, from check-in to checkout, typically takes 15 to 20 minutes.

If detected early, breast cancer has a five-year survival rate of more than 95 percent. Yearly mammograms are recommended for women age 40 plus with average risk. However, women with a family history of breast cancer and some other types of cancers can schedule a risk assessment appointment to find out if they should start screening earlier or more frequently and if they qualify for genetic testing. Doctors at The Breast Center believe women are best cared for by individualizing screening based on their personal risk.

During this past year, many women have avoided important screening tests. “We want to encourage anyone who has not had their mammogram this year, to not delay their screening due to the pandemic,” said Grear.  “We have enhanced safety protocols and patients can rest assured their health is our top priority when they come for their exam.”

Established in 2003 as the first independent center in Arkansas by Drs. Danna Grear and Kevin Pope, The Breast Center, A MANA Clinic, is committed to providing hope through early detection of breast cancer with personalized care. The Breast Center attracted the attention of Steven Harms, a world-renowned MRI expert who joined the practice in 2004. His expertise elevated the level of care for women in Northwest Arkansas by installing one of the first dedicated Breast MRI machines in the nation. In 2006 the practice added a Bentonville location, and in 2018 their third clinic was opened in Harrison. In addition to 3D mammography and Breast MRI, since 2012 The Breast Center is the only practice in Arkansas to offer automated screening ultrasound to women with dense breast tissue who are at an increased risk for breast cancer.

The practice has recruited expert physicians fellowship-trained in breast imaging to join the practice: Drs. Kelly Pierce, Britton Bennett Lott, Katherine Rankin, and Whitney Manlove Sipe. Most recently, in 2020, The Breast Center added two additional fellowship-trained breast radiologists to the care team: Dr. Holly Gonzales and Dr. Bennett O’Brien Battle.
