The Breast Center Resumes Screening Mammograms

As of Monday, May 4, 2020, in addition to diagnostic exams, The Breast Center will resume screening Mammograms for patients at low risk for COVID-19 at our clinics in Fayetteville, Bentonville, and Harrison.

Our staff is taking extra precautions including:

  • screening patients at the door,
  • requiring face masks,
  • limiting the number of patients in the clinic at one time,
  • and thoroughly disinfecting each exam room between patients.

While we are taking several precautions to prevent the spread of infection at our clinics, our radiologists recommend patients who are over 65 or have a chronic disease (diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease, or other) continue to stay at home for the time being, away from people who could be infected with COVID-19.  We strongly encourage you to call back to schedule your mammogram once the community is “open” again.  If you should find a lump, or any type of change in your breast tissue, contact your primary physician, and we will be happy to see you for a diagnostic exam.

Screening Patients & Guests

Please know that we will be screening each patient at the time you schedule and again at the appointment at the entrance of the building, checking for any fever, sickness, or travel outside Northwest Arkansas in the past two weeks. We ask that you not bring anyone else to the appointment or ask them to wait in the car. If your circumstances require their assistance, your caretaker will be screened in the same way as you are.

Social Distancing

In addition, we are limiting the number of patients in the building at one time and will promote social distancing in the clinic as much as possible.

Face Masks

The CDC is recommending everyone wear facemasks in public to prevent the spread of illness and we are requiring facemasks in our clinic. Our staff will be wearing face masks to keep you safe and we ask that you also wear a cloth face mask. If you have one, please bring it. If you do not have one, a sanitized cloth face mask will be provided.

Our Staff

All of our physicians and staff will be wearing face masks and have passed a daily health screening.

Deep Cleaning

Our staff is thoroughly disinfected exam rooms, dressing rooms, high-touch areas and equipment between patients. In addition, a professional disinfectant deep cleaning is done weekly.

Schedule Your Mammogram

If you missed your mammogram last month, please call (479) 442-6266 to reschedule!

If you missed your screening last month, it is very important for you to reschedule as soon as possible. Mammography detects breast cancer when it is most treatable. A mammogram could save your life.

The Breast Center phone hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
