Holly Jo Gonzales, MD, officially joins the breast imagers at The Breast Center on January 2nd, 2020. Welcome to the MANA team, Dr. Gonzales!
Dr. Gonzales graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Counseling/Psychology. She then completed her post-baccalaureate premedical courses at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Dr. Gonzales attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock. While at UAMS, Dr. Gonzales joined the American Medical Student Association, Christian Medical and Dental Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She was also awarded several scholarships, including the Dorothy Snider Foundation Scholarship, Class of 1952 Alumni Scholarship, and Barton Foundation Scholarship.
During her Diagnostic Radiology Residency at UAMS College of Medicine, Dr. Gonzales received the Professionalism Award, Excellence in Medical Student Teaching Award, Resident Research Award. She also held the positions of Social Chair and Chief Resident. Dr. Gonzales completed her Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
“I absolutely love what I do,” said Dr. Gonzales. “It’s rewarding to know that I have the opportunity to save lives by finding breast cancer on a mammogram or offering words of hope and encouragement as a woman learns she has breast cancer.”
Dr. Gonzales is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society.
